10 Ways To Annoy Telemarketers

Don't you just hate it when you sit down to eat and the phone rings? Or maybe you are in the middle of your favourite show and the phone rings and for some reason you don't have a Tivo and you can't pause your show to answer it. I do too. Well next time you are interrupted by a telemarketer don't hang up have some fun with them. Here are ten fun things to try.

1. When they start their pitch interrupt them and ask them if they know a four letter word that will fit 7 across "A ______ grows in Brooklyn". If they give you the answer say thanks and tell them to go ahead. Then when they start again, ask them another one. See how long you can get them to help you. Keep a crossword handy and see how many calls it takes to complete it.

2. When they ask for you tell them that you are their brother or sister. Tell them that you'll get "you". Then using the same voice say this is "your name" Then when they start to talk to you say Hang on a second and give the phone to your "brother or sister". See how long you can keep going.

3. Ask them to repeat everything they just said because you are a compulsive note taker.

4. Start speaking in a made up language or even Klingon.

5. When they ask how you are doing.....tell them. Let them know about your bunions, your chronic bad breath, the splotches on your feet that the doctor can't figure out and don't forget your hemorrhoids.

6. As soon as you know it's a telemarketer say "Hang on a minute" and put the phone down and come back when you here the beeping.

7. Same as above but put the phone by the stereo or TV and play something like Opera.

8. If you have a big dog put the phone by its mouth and let it breath in the phone.

9. Start yawning as the talk and ask them to repeat what they just said. Then start snoring. If they "wake you up" tell them that their sales pitch cured your insomnia.

10. Start asking them all sort of personal questions until they hang up.

I hope you enjoyed these little ways to annoy the telemarketers that annoy us.
